Carson Beck Talks 'Difficult' Hanna Cavinder Breakup, 'You Make Mistakes as a Person'

Miami quarterback Carson Beck and former Hurricanes' basketball player Hanna Cavinder broke up in April after spending time in a high-profile relationship together. The quarterback spoke about the situation on Wednesday.

"You make mistakes as a person, but it sucks that you have to go through something like that with someone that you care about, and now it's all over the Internet," he told ESPN's Andrea Adelson. "Half of what you see in the media is true. Half of what you see is not true. So, people pick their side of the story and run with it. The people that know the truth know the truth. But it's been difficult."

Beck transferred to Miami after a disappointing 2024 campaign with Georgia that culminated in him tearing his ulnar collateral ligament ahead of the College Football Playoffs, ending his season.

Thus far, the change in scenery has looked like the right decision. Beck has thrown for 972 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions across four games, completing 73.2 of his passes, and Miami is ranked No. 3 in the nation after an undefeated start.

The Hurricanes will face No. 18 Florida State on Saturday, and a win would solidify them as genuine title contenders this season.
