College Football Week 6 Top 25 Picks, Odds, Box Score Predictions, Rankings, Schedule

Joe TanseySep 29, 2025

One of the most important meetings in years between the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles headlines the Week 6 college football slate.

Miami and Florida State are both ranked ahead of the rivalry game for the first time since 2016.

Miami comes in as the third-ranked team in the country and the favorite to win the ACC.

Florida State is in rebound mode after it fell on the road to the Virginia Cavaliers in Week 5. A win over Miami in Tallahassee would put the 'Noles right back in the ACC title and College Football Playoff discussions.

The other Top 25 matchup of the weekend comes from Tuscaloosa, where the Alabama Crimson Tide continues their string of battles against ranked opponents versus the Vanderbilt Commodores.

2 of 3
Florida State v Virginia

Florida State comes into Saturday's biggest game with more to prove than Miami.

The Seminoles are coming off a road overtime loss to Virginia that dashed their national championship expectations.

The best way for FSU to get back into the playoff mix is to beat Miami at home in front of a national audience.

Tommy Castellanos is more than capable of leading the Seminoles to an upset win at home. He did just that in Week 1 against Alabama.

For FSU to truly have a chance, it needs to tighten up the defensive shortcomings it experienced against UVA. The Seminoles gave up 46 points and 440 total yards.

Miami will run all over the FSU defense if it puts up similar numbers in Week 6.

The Hurricanes should be favored because Carson Beck looks like a Heisman contender and their defense allowed 46 points in four games.

Five of Miami's seven regular-season losses in the last two years have come on the road.

Beck was brought in to help fix some of those issues, and if he does, Miami can win the game.

However, it's hard not to back the underdog to at least keep it close. Castellanos is one of the best gamers in the sport and he should at least have FSU in the contest when it hits the fourth quarter.

Prediction: Florida State (+5.5)

No. 16 Vanderbilt at No. 10 Alabama (-10.5)

3 of 3
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 27 Alabama at Georgia

We've learned by now to never count out Diego Pavia in a college football game.

The Vanderbilt quarterback led his team to an upset over Alabama last year. The Commodores also played Texas and Missouri close.

Winning in Tuscaloosa is whole other beast to conquer. That might be too much to achieve, even for someone with no fear, like Pavia.

Alabama has had the look of a national title contender since dropping its opener to Florida State.

The Crimson Tide started fast and held on against Georgia last week and could ride that wave of momentum into Saturday.

Alabama typically blows out Vanderbilt, and while that may not be the case in 2025, the Crimson Tide are rolling right now and it will be difficult for Pavia and Co. to stay within single digits.

Prediction: Alabama (-10.5)
