Oregon's Week 5 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions will be the most notable victory earned by Dan Lanning's team before December.
The Ducks host the Indiana Hoosiers in two weeks, but that's a game Oregon will be expected to win.
After that, Oregon doesn't have any other Top 25 opponents on their schedule, which paves the path for it to finish in the top two and potentially face Ohio State for the top seed in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Ole Miss Leads Pack of SEC Playoff Contenders

Ole Miss' nine-spot leap in the AP Top 25 makes it the top playoff contender out of the SEC for now.
Lane Kiffin's team took down the previously-fourth-ranked LSU Tigers on Saturday.
Ole Miss has a week off and then a home game against the Washington State Cougars before it finds itself back in the national spotlight.
The Rebels visit the Georgia Bulldogs and Oklahoma Sooners in consecutive weeks to end October. If they survive both of those games, they will absolutely be considered the top dog in the SEC.
For now, the Rebels are above the rest of the playoff contenders from the SEC in the rankings.
As we've already seen through five weeks in the SEC, anything can change from week to week, so a few top contenders may emerge from the SEC before December.
