FSU WR Squirrel White Reportedly 'OK' After Viral UVA Field Storming Video

Mike ChiariSep 27, 2025

Florida State wide receiver Squirrel White was reportedly unharmed after University of Virginia students stormed the field Friday night to celebrate UVA's 46-38 upset win over FSU.

According to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, White made it into the locker room with the rest of the team after the game, and he is "OK."

With Florida State trailing by eight in overtime, Seminoles quarterback Tommy Castellanos hoisted a pass into the end zone on fourth-and-12, hoping White could make a miraculous play.

Instead, Cavaliers defensive back Ja'son Prevard came down with the interception, ending the game and sending hundreds of UVA fans running onto the field at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.

White, who was on the ground at the conclusion of the play, quickly disappeared amid the sea of fans. While there was concern that he could have potentially gotten trampled, the senior wideout reportedly emerged unscathed.

After spending his first three collegiate seasons at Tennessee, White is in the midst of his first campaign with the Noles.

The speedster from Birmingham, Alabama, had his best season with the Volunteers in 2023, recording career highs with 67 receptions for 803 yards to go along with two touchdowns.

Overall, White finished his time in Knoxville with 131 catches for 1,665 yards and six scores.

In his first game at FSU, White made a huge, 40-yard catch during the Seminoles' 31-17 upset of Alabama earlier this month.

However, White has not been a big part of the offense since then, catching one pass for seven yards in a 77-3 thrashing of East Texas A&M and two passes for five yards against Virginia on Friday.

FSU was one of the most pleasant surprises in college football early this season, posting a 3-0 record and reaching a ranking of No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

It looked like the program was back on track after shockingly bottoming out to the tune of a 2-10 record last season.

Florida State still looks like a much better team this year than last, but the loss to Virginia will likely drop the Seminoles considerably in the rankings.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have a strong shot to enter the top 25 next week since their 3-1 overall record and 2-0 conference record currently has them atop the ACC.
