Giants, Jets Among NFL Teams Sending GMs to Scout Drew Allar, PSU vs. Oregon
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar could potentially improve his 2026 NFL Draft stock on Saturday if he can hand Oregon its first loss of the season.
New York Jets general manager Darren Mougey and New York Jets general manager Joe Schoen will both be in attendance at Beaver Stadium to watch the matchup between No. 3 Penn State and No. 6 Oregon, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Friday.
Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane will be among 30 NFL representatives who are also planning to attend the game, per Thamel.
Schoen might not just be in town for scouting reasons. His son Carson Schoen, listed by 247Sports as a quarterback in the Class of 2028, wrote Tuesday on social media that he would also be visiting Penn State this weekend.
But it's no surprise Saturday's matchup is drawing interest from almost the entirety of the NFL, given how many draft-eligible prospects are playing for both teams.
Allar joined Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton and safety Zakee Wheatley as projected first-round picks in the B/R NFL Scouting Department's early mock draft published before Week 1 of the college football season.
Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman, tight end Kenyon Sadiq and edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei were also projected as first-round picks by Bleacher Report.
Quarterback Dante Moore has also earned draft hype after leading the Ducks to an undefeated start. ESPN's Mel Kiper recently reported that Round 1 of the 2026 NFL draft "will be in play" for Moore if he continues playing at a similar level.
Thamel meanwhile recently reported that a veteran NFL scout told him Allar "has a chance" to be the top pick in 2026.
Both Allar and Moore's early-season success has taken place so far against unranked opponents. Oregon has gone 4-0 against Montana State, Oklahoma State, Northwestern and Oregon State, while Penn State is 3-0 after wins over Nevada, Florida International and Villanova.
Saturday's matchup, which will present both program's biggest tests of the season, could ultimately impact where each team's stars end up on NFL draft boards next spring.
