Jeremiah Smith's Brother Angelo Commits to Ohio State, Safety Is in Class of 2027

Timothy RappSep 21, 2025

Jeremiah Smith's younger brother, Angelo, told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he is committing to Ohio State.

The 3-star safety is considered the No. 400 overall player in the Class of 2027, the No. 38 safety and the No. 46 player from the state of Florida, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Georgia State, Miami and Oklahoma State were also reportedly in the running.

While Jeremiah Smith was an immediate contributor for Ohio State as a playmaking wideout, his younger brother would be much less likely to see the field immediately. The elder Smith will likely only play through the 2026 season for the Buckeyes before turning pro, so the two being on the roster together is a long shot.

Ohio State has gotten off to a solid start in its 2027 recruiting, with Smith joining 4-star athlete Jamier Brown and 4-star quarterback Brady Edmunds. The Buckeyes are also currently ranked ninth in 247Sports' Composite Rankings for the Class of 2026.
