The game started off as a defensive battle, with both teams tied 3-3 at the end of the first quarter and settling for a 10-10 tie at halftime.

The Sooners quickly responded with a touchdown drive of their own, traveling 75 yards in just six plays before quarterback John Mateer found the end zone on a nine-yard run.
Mateer finished 24-of-36 for 271 yards and a touchdown without tossing an interception. He also rushed for 29 yards and a score.
Isaiah Sategna III was Mateer's top target, reeling in nine catches for 127 yards to go along with a touchdown.
Oklahoma's defense repeatedly stepped up during the game, limiting Auburn to just 287 total yards. The Tigers were also unable to rely on their rushing attack, averaging a mere 1.9 yards per carry as a team.
The Sooners are now 4-0 for the second time in three seasons.
