Pat McAfee Jumps from High Dive in Speedo After Picking Miami over UF in Viral Video
Never one to shy away from a big moment, Pat McAfee concluded Saturday's episode of College Gameday from the University of Miami campus in spectacular fashion.
After picking Miami to defeat Florida, McAfee made his way to the famous high dive at the outdoor pool on the campus and jumped in wearing only a Speedo.
McAfee's leap does open up an argument for the most famous high-dive jump at the University of Miami from a football-related personality.
The sole owner of that distinction previously belonged to Mark Richt leading up to his first season as Hurricanes head coach. He did a backflip off the high dive at a prospect camp in July 2016.
McAfee's leap was rather pedestrian by comparison, as he just went straight down and didn't add any flare. That's a little surprising considering his history in wrestling and willingness to put his body on the line to entertain a crowd.
Regardless, McAfee is certainly helping to fill the void left on Gameday in the wake of Lee Corso's retirement. The show historically ended with Corso's headgear pick that got the crowd fired up, either because they were excited when he predicted the home team to win or outraged that he went with the road club.
McAfee is using his pro-wrestling background at the end of shows by cutting WWE-style promos before making his pick for the final game.
Saturday saw McAfee take things a step further by not only picking the home favorite Miami team, but closing the show by giving fans something else to cheer about when he went into the water.
