Tim Tebow Sends Arch Manning Video Message, Says 'You Don't Have to Be Perfect'
Former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback offered a piece of advice to Arch Manning amid a sluggish start for the Texas star.
Tebow told Manning to try to forgot about all the pressure and instead focus on playing for "the love of the game."
"Man, you're a gifted player, you're a really good player, you just need to be encouraged," Tebow said on the Rich Eisen Show (7:39 mark). "Remember it for the love of the game. He's at a location right now with great coaches, great players around him, but there's just a lot of pressure. The pressure's real, and it's hard sometimes to explain that to people... I'd just encourage him to remember the love of the game and play for it. You don't have to make every play, you don't have to be perfect."
With all the hype Manning received ahead of his debut as the starter, he knows a thing or two about pressure at this point.
The nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning was the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2023 and only added to his hype with strong performances last season, when he was backing up Quinn Ewers.
Ahead of the 2025 campaign, Manning was receiving attention as a Heisman candidate and was even projected by some to be the top pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
So far, he hasn't lived up to the expectations, throwing for just 579 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions through his first three games. Perhaps he'll lean on Tebow's advice and turn things around soon.
