Despite the Volunteers' narrow defeat, fans and pundits were amazed by the performances from both teams.

Tennessee was held to a field goal on its lone overtime possession.

The Volunteers had a chance to end the contest in regulation, but a 43-yard field goal attempt from Max Gilbert with seven seconds left in the fourth quarter sailed wide right.

It's worth noting that Tennessee was backed up five yards due to a false start penalty on the previous play.

The Vols opened Saturday's matchup on a high note, finding the end zone on each of their first three drives of the game to hold a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Georgia responded by outscoring Tennessee 10-0 in the second quarter, eventually taking its first lead with touchdown run by McCray to open the third.

After the Bulldogs connected on a field goal to jump out to a 30-28 edge early in the fourth quarter, the Vols scored 10 unanswered points by capitalizing off a fumble from quarterback Gunner Stockton.

Stockton made up for the turnover on Georgia's ensuing drive, finding London Humphreys for a 28-yard touchdown on fourth down before a two-point conversion tied the game.

Stockton finished 23-of-31 for 304 yards and two touchdowns without getting picked off, adding a third score on the ground.

Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar ended the game with five total touchdowns, throwing for 371 yards. He also tossed two interceptions.

Aguilar heavily relied on Chris Brazzell II, who hauled in six receptions for 177 yards and three scores.

Despite the Vols' impressive offensive performance, Saturday's result marked their ninth straight loss to Georgia.
