Ryan Williams Expected to Play for Alabama vs. Wisconsin After Concussion Recovery
Alabama wideout Ryan Williams should be available for Saturday's matchup with Wisconsin after suffering a concussion in the Crimson Tide's opening-game loss to Florida State, which forced him to miss last week's win over Louisiana-Monroe.
"We expect him to play," head coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters Wednesday.
Williams came into the 2025 season with huge expectations after starring as a freshman, catching 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. His scoring play against Georgia in particular was one of the best plays of the entire 2024 season.
But he only had five catches for 30 yards in the 31-17 loss against Florida State on Aug. 30, and a few drops, before suffering his concussion in the fourth quarter.
The hype was immense for Williams, a preseason All-America selection. Suffice to say, it hasn't been the start of the season he would have wanted between Week 1's struggles and the concussion, but there is plenty of season left for Williams and Alabama.
As for the rest of the Crimson Tide, Jam Miller (collarbone), defensive tackle Tim Keenan III (ankle) and linebacker Jah-Marien Latham (leg) will be game-time decisions on Saturday.
"They're getting their work in, making some progress," DeBoer told reporters.
He added earlier in the week that the Crimson Tide "did get through healthy, for the most part" during the 73-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
