Deion Sanders Shouts out Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson After Historic 1st Wins as HC

After earning their first victories as college football head coaches over the weekend, Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson earned a shoutout from Deion Sanders.

Coach Prime sent out a message on X to Vick and Jackson.

Vick earned his first head-coaching job in December when Norfolk State hired him to run the football program. Jackson was hired by Delaware State after spending last season as the offensive coordinator for Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in California.

Both men lost their first game of the season before rebounding in Week 2. Norfolk State defeated Virginia State 34-31 in overtime. The Spartans scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to erase a 23-10 deficit.

Delaware State won a 37-32 thriller over Albany. The Great Danes took a 32-31 lead late in the fourth quarter before Kaiden Bennett saved the day with a 27-yard touchdown run with 34 seconds remaining to steal a victory for the Hornets.

Vick and Jackson, who were teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 to '13, are part of a wave of former NFL players who are being hired for college head-coaching jobs in the wake of Sanders' success.

Both of them are still very early in the process of building up their programs, but things seem to be going fine thus far as they were able to celebrate their first head-coaching victories on the same day.

Sanders' NFL career briefly overlapped with Vick, who was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2004. Sanders came out of retirement in 2004 and spent two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before retiring for good in January 2006.

Saturday was actually a good day for all three coaches, as Colorado also earned its first win of the season. The Buffaloes defeated Delaware 31-7 for Sanders' first victory without Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter.
