Boise State CFB Reveal New Unique Blue Helmets in Photos, Will Debut vs. App State

Andrew PetersSep 8, 2025

Boise State football will pay homage to the state of Idaho with some unique new helmets.

The Broncos announced their new helmets on social media on Monday. The hand-painted blue helmets feature the school's mascot on one side, the Idaho State Capitol building on the other and have Albertsons Stadium and the Boise River on the back. Additionally, the front bumper features the city's area code, 208.

Boise State named the helmets "The Front Porch of Idaho" and will debut them against Appalachian State on Sept. 27.

Boise State never disappoints in the creativity department, starting with their one-of-a-kind blue field, and the Broncos certainly didn't disappoint with the new helmets.

The Broncos are coming off an outstanding 12-2 season that saw them reach their first College Football Playoff, where they lost to Penn State in the quarterfinal. Boise State lost star running back Ashton Jeanty, who had a historically good season, to the draft, and his absence is being felt early.

The Broncos dropped their season opener to South Florida—though that loss is looking better after the Bulls' upset win over No. 13 Florida on Saturday. They bounced back this week with a win over Washington State.

After a bye week this week, Boise State will be back in action against Air Force on Sept. 20.
