The Georgia Bulldogs begin their SEC gauntlet in Week 3 on the road against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Kirby Smart's sixth-ranked team has four Top 25 teams on its schedule in the next five games, so Saturday could serve as a launching pad for a championship-level season, or it may teach it some hard truths.

Both UGA and Tennessee put up some impressive offensive numbers in the first two weeks, but the Week 3 clash is the first time they will both see SEC defenses.

The Texas A&M Aggies are viewed as a potential challenger to Georgia. Tennessee and others in the SEC. Their first big test is Saturday on the road against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame can't afford a second loss this early in the season, but earning a win at home against a tough A&M team won't be easy.

Georgia and Tennessee both bring inexperienced quarterbacks into their SEC opener in Knoxville.

Gunner Stockton has a slight edge over Joey Aguilar in SEC play because he played in place of Carson Beck toward the end of last season.

Aguilar put up the better numbers in the first two weeks of 2025 with 247 and 288 passing yards in two victories.

Tennessee has been more explosive, but that will always be the case with Josh Heupel's system.

Georgia's defense held both of its opponents to single-digit point totals, while the Vols allowed 43 points.

UGA doesn't have a massive edge in the top-15 battle, but Stockton knows how to handle an SEC environment and its defense is still as strong as ever.

The Under 50.5 might turn out to be the best bet because of how UGA's defense opened the campaign.

For the spread, Georgia is a solid bet because Stockton is a solid complement to a strong defensive unit.

Prediction: Georgia (-4.5)

No. 16 Texas A&M (+6.5) at No. 8 Notre Dame

3 of 3
Utah State v Texas A&M

Notre Dame's second game of the season could be more difficult than its opener.

The 0-1 Fighting Irish will face a tougher defense from Texas A&M and a more mobile quarterback in Marcel Reed.

Reed put up 509 passing yards and 105 rushing yards in his first two games.

Reed's only road win last year occurred at Florida, but he gained plenty of experience in hostile road environments during his first full year as a starting quarterback in the SEC.

C.J. Carr displayed plenty of positive signs in his Notre Dame debut, but he didn't have a Week 2 game to work on his flaws from the opener.

The lack of a game in between the Miami loss and the A&M clash might hurt the Irish because they could still be cleaning up some errors.

The X-factor is Jeremiyah Love's volume in the ND rushing attack. He was non-existent against Miami. If he can get going, the Irish can pull away.

However, A&M's defense is typically strong and Reed can cause a whole lot of problems to the ND defense with his arm and legs.

Prediction: Texas A&M (+6.5)
