DeSean Jackson Joins Bill Belichick, Michael Vick Getting Historic 1st Win as CFB HC
Saturday was quite the day for notable NFL names who have turned to the college ranks.
DeSean Jackson, Bill Belichick and Michael Vick all notched their first career wins as college coaches. Jackson's Delaware State defeated Albany 37-32, Belichick's North Carolina handled Charlotte 20-3 and Vick's Norfolk State beat Virginia State 34-31 in overtime.
Jackson's day surely felt like a marathon, as Cobi Simmons of HBCU Gameday noted the contest featured two lightning delays that combined to last more than seven hours. Yet the Hornets prevailed thanks to some late-game dramatics.

KD Burner Saga Was 'Distraction'
Kaiden Bennett threw for 171 yards, but it was the quarterback's legs that proved to be the difference. He ran for three touchdowns, the last of which went for 27 yards in the final minute to put his team up for good.
He also somewhat bailed out Jackson, who otherwise may have been facing some scrutiny for a failed fake punt earlier in the fourth quarter that put Albany in excellent field position. The Great Danes converted to take the late lead, but Delaware State answered back with the winning score.
As for Belichick, the victory was relatively stress-free and expected against an overmatched Charlotte squad. The defense bounced back after the season-opening 48-14 loss to TCU, and quarterback Gio Lopez threw for 155 yards and a touchdown.
Things will get more difficult in ACC play, so the Tar Heels need to take advantage of games like Saturday's and the upcoming one against Richmond.
Vick's first win as the head coach of Norfolk State was anything but straightforward and stress-free, but the Spartans forced overtime by outscoring Virginia State 21-8 in the fourth quarter and then won the extra period.
Quarterback Otto Kuhns threw for two touchdowns, while running back Jaylen Laudermilk scored a touchdown on the ground.
Now all three notable head coaches have momentum and will look to build on it as the season progresses.
