Bryce Underwood, Michigan Offense Criticized by CFB Fans in Loss to Oklahoma
Joe TanseySep 6, 2025
Bryce Underwood and the Michigan Wolverines offense did not look great in the true freshman's first road game of his collegiate career.
Underwood went 9-for-24 for 142 yards and was outplayed by Oklahoma Sooners quarterback John Mateer.
Michigan's offensive coaches caught a fair share of criticism for how Saturday's game played out as well. The Wolverines were outgained 408-288 by the Sooners.
Saturday's performance was a far cry from the 251 passing yards Underwood put up in Week 1 against the New Mexico Lobos.
The Michigan freshman will have one easy game against Central Michigan in Week 3 to improve on some things before the Wolverines begin their Big Ten slate against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 4.
