
Ty Simpson Impresses CFB Fans as Kalen DeBoer, Alabama Bounce-Back in Win vs. ULM
After a concerning Week 1 loss to Florida State, the Alabama Crimson Tide bounced back in dominant fashion Saturday, shutting out the UL Monroe Warhawks 73-0 at home behind a near-flawless performance from quarterback Ty Simpson.
Simpson was perfect through the air, completing all 17 of his pass attempts for 226 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score.
Backup Austin Mack went 8-of-10 for 80 yards and two touchdowns, and Keelon Russell added to the onslaught, finishing 4-of-6 for 65 yards and two more scores.

Running back's Richard Young and AK Dear contributed rushing touchdowns, while wide receiver Germie Bernard hauled in three touchdowns on just four receptions for 109 yards. Isaiah Horton, Cole Adams, MJ Chirgwin, Kaleb Edwards and Josh Cuevas also each recorded a receiving touchdown.
Fans reacted positively to the blowout win, as head coach Kalen DeBoer and Simpson bounced back in a big way from their season-opening loss.
In Week 1, Alabama fell to Florida State 31-17. Despite a solid showing from Simpson in that game, the Crimson Tide struggled to establish a ground attack, and the defense had trouble getting stops.
Alabama will look to build momentum heading into Week 3 with a home matchup against Wisconsin on Saturday.
