Julian Sayin Sets Record as Jeremiah Smith, OSU Draw Rave Reviews vs. Grambling State
After setting an Ohio State record with 16 straight completions for 289 yards and four touchdowns, quarterback Julian Sayin helped lead the Buckeyes to a dominant 70-0 win over Grambling State.
Sayin finished the first half 18-of-19 passing for 306 yards and one interception. He connected early and often with standout sophomore receiver Jeremiah Smith, who hauled in five catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Carnell Tate and Will Kacmarek each added a touchdown reception, while running back CJ Donaldson punched in a rushing score to cap off the first-half onslaught.

Sayin and the Buckeyes drew rave reviews after showcasing a high-powered offense en route to a blowout win over Grambling State.
Ohio State scored on each of its first four possessions, jumping out to a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter.
The Buckeyes' near-perfect start ended when Sayin threw his first incompletion of the game — a red-zone interception by Grambling State's Tyrell Raby — with 8:01 remaining in the second quarter.
But Ohio State responded immediately. On its next possession, the Buckeyes marched 62 yards on eight plays, capping the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run by Donaldson to extend the lead and erase any concern over the turnover.
If there was any doubt about whether Ohio State would rest its starters after a dominant first half, it was quickly put to rest when Grambling State fumbled on its first possession of the second half. The ball was recovered and returned for a touchdown by Ohio State linebacker Riley Pettijohn to jump ahead 42-0.
Ohio State will host the Ohio Bobcats next Saturday.
