TCU CFB Unveils 'Snow Room' in Training Facility Video as Part of $50M Renovation
As if a dominant 48-14 win over North Carolina in Bill Belichick's debut for the Tar Heels wasn't enough to start the 2025 season, TCU has unveiled its updated training facility that includes a first-of-its-kind snow room to aid in recovery as part of a $50 million renovation.
TCU revealed the snow room, which has a standing temperature of 12 degrees, in a video tour of the facility led by the Super Frog mascot that also included a cameo from Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson.

The renovation was announced by TCU in February 2024. Funds for the project came from donors, with the goal to have it completed by the start of the 2025 football season.
Per the school's announcement, the project will support all 515 student-athletes in 22 different sports. It involved renovating the already-existing Bob Lilly Performance Center, expanding the entryway to the football facilities and developing a restoration and wellness center.
TCU specifically touted the addition of a cryo lounge, hydro massage and red light therapy in the new restoration and wellness center.
The use of cryotherapy has grown in popularity among athletes in recent years. Medical research has shown that cold-water immersion after exercise or strenuous physical activity can help reduce inflammation and soreness.
This investment comes as TCU has established itself as a prominent national football program. The Horned Frogs were in the College Football Playoff Championship game two years ago. They are the only Big 12 team that has made the title game since the playoff format was adopted in 2014.
