Liverpool's Mo Salah Responds to Fan for 'Disrespecting' Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah called out a fan account Wednesday for a disparaging X post it made regarding former Liverpool players Luis Díaz and Darwin Núñez.

In response to the post about Liverpool upgrading from Díaz and Núñez to Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, Salah urged the fan to "celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions."

The account, Anfield Edition, later acknowledged Salah's point and apologized to the 33-year-old veteran:

Both Díaz and Núñez are veteran players who played for Liverpool from 2022 to 2025 before moving on to new clubs.

Díaz is a 28-year-old winger from Colombia who scored 41 goals in 148 matches across all competitions for the Reds. That included a career-high 17 goals last season, which played a significant role in Liverpool winning the English Premier League title.

The 26-year-old Núñez is a Uruguayan forward who recorded 40 goals in 143 matches across all competitions during his time at Liverpool.

He scored only seven goals for the EPL champion Reds last season, but Núñez has been a lethal offensive player in the past, netting a career-high 34 goals with Benfica in 2021-22.

Díaz transferred to Bayern Munich in July, and he is already making his presence felt with three goals in four matches. Meanwhile, Núñez transferred to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, and he did not score in his one appearance for the team thus far.

As for Liverpool's new additions, Wirtz and Isak will hope to push Liverpool to a successful Premier League title defense. Isak has a chance to make his debut for the club in a little less than two weeks when the Reds take on Burnley on September 14.
