Bill Belichick, UNC Don't Release Depth Chart Ahead of CFB Season Opener vs. TCU
Bill Belichick is keeping things under wraps the best he can ahead of his college football coaching debut for North Carolina.
The new Tar Heels head coach did not release a depth chart before his season opener against TCU on Monday. While the strategy might not be a complete game-changer, Belichick is trying to gain any advantage he can against the Horned Frogs, who are a 3.5-point favorite, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Horned Frogs seemingly responded to the lack of a depth chart by not releasing theirs either.
While North Carolina's full depth chart for Monday's game is not yet known, fans at least know who will start under center. Belichick announced last week that transfer Gio Lopez will be the Tar Heels' QB1 against TCU.
Lopez spent his first two seasons at South Alabama, where he threw for 2,559 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions last year, adding 465 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
Lopez was expected to be back at South Alabama this year, but entered the portal and committed to North Carolina after spring practice in April. Lopez also received interest from top programs like Georgia and LSU, per ESPN's Eli Lederman.
The Tar Heels also have freshman Bryce Baker and veteran Max Johnson available at quarterback if Belichick opts to change things up at any point this season.
North Carolina is coming off a disappointing 6-7 season that saw the firing of head coach Mack Brown. After the season, the Tar Heels stunned the football world by hiring Belichick, who had never coached at the collegiate level before.
Belichick, who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, has not coached in any capacity since the end of the 2023 season, but he's hoping to find success in his newest role.
He'll look to start things off strong with a win over TCU on Monday.
