Ranking Every Premier League Striker Transfer During the 2025 Summer Window

Nick AkermanSep 2, 2025

The summer transfer window, or the Great Striker Rush of 2025, is over.

An unusually high number of strikers joined Premier League clubs this summer.

Here, we've ranked those who completed fresh moves. That means no loan signings such as Randal Kolo Muani, and no loans turned permanent, such as Jørgen Strand Larsen.

Let's go.

20-16

1 of 8
Leeds United v Newcastle United - Premier League
Dominic Calvert-Lewin

20. Eli Junior Kroupi, Bournemouth

Super-talented but likely to struggle for consistent minutes this season. Bournemouth will hope the France U21 international's development will eventually lead to a big sale.

19. Armando Broja, Burnley

A really nice coup for promoted Burnley. However, Broja hasn't shown the quality of his 2021-22 breakout season in the Premier League and needs to find form and fitness.

18. Lukas Nmecha, Leeds United

Has hit the ground running at Elland Road. The German has already scored and is making an impact with his hard work in the final third. Likely to rotate all season.

17. Charalampos Kostoulas, Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton signing a youngster is always worth attention, such is their scouting quality. The 19-year-old may take a season or two to settle, but he's already scored goals at Olympiacos and has real potential.

16. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leeds United

A season to get back on track for the man who once netted 16 goals in a Premier League campaign. DCL has already missed a penalty in the Carabao Cup shootout defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, as well as some big chances. Plenty to prove for a man who once had aspirations of playing for a top-six club.

15-11

2 of 8
Nottingham Forest v West Ham United - Premier League
Callum Wilson

15. Callum Wilson, West Ham United

At 33 years old, Callum Wilson is still showing his fight and grit. After all the injuries and playing second fiddle to Alexander Isak at Newcastle, he's working hard at West Ham and provided a reminder of his quality with his goal off the bench against Nottingham Forest. Capable of doing what Niclas Füllkrug has so far shown he can't.

14. Stefanos Tzimas, Brighton & Hove Albion

Another young Brighton pick-up. Looked real quality with his brace in the Carabao Cup against Oxford United and proved to be a regular scorer at Nuremberg. Likely to get more minutes than Kostoulas.

13. Brian Brobbey, Sunderland

It wasn't long ago Brian Brobbey was being linked with Manchester United. Destined for the Premier League for a few years now, Sunderland will hope they've picked up the striker who scored 18 for Ajax in the 2023-24 Eredivisie, and not the man who has scored just four last season.

12. Thierno Barry, Everton

A very David Moyes-esque pick-up who will rotate well with Beto this campaign. Scored 11 goals in 25 La Liga starts for Villarreal last season and will benefit from the Toffees picking up creative sparks such as Jark Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carlos Alcaraz.

11. Tolu Arokodare, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Good business for Wolves, who should be able to play a similar way whether Arokodare or Larsen lead the line. Arokodare deserves the step up from the Belgian Jupiler League after scoring 51 goals in 88 starts and 33 sub appearances for Genk. The Nigeria international is hitting his stride at 24 and should make a decent impact.

10-6

3 of 8
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest - Premier League
Igor Jesus

10. Igor Jesus, Nottingham Forest

Earned a deserved transfer after scoring two for Botafogo at the FIFA Club World Cup. Being Chris Wood's understudy is a difficult nut to crack right now, but there are already signs the Brazilian is going to be an excellent addition in a long season that includes European football.

9. Arnaud Kalimuendo, Nottingham Forest

A consistent Ligue 1 scorer who notched up 12, 10 and 17 across his last three seasons in the division. The Frenchman is just 23 and will have been scouted by bigger clubs. Like Jesus, he will add much-needed quality and versatility ahead of a big year.

8. Nick Woltemade, Newcastle United

Nicolas Woltemade should have time to ease in with Yoane Wissa also making the move in a post-Alexander Isak world, but Woltemade is the type of player who won't need long to get the fans onside. A threat from lots of different situations and has a really high ceiling...and not just because he's 6'6".

7. Liam Delap, Chelsea

It feels like years ago Liam Delap moved to Chelsea. He appeared to have quickly settled with Enzo Maresca using him and Joao Pedro, when it initially seemed like one or the other. Should score a ton of goals and work hard to open the avenue for more once he returns from a hamstring issue.

6. Benjamin Sesko, Manchester United

Already being unfairly judged, Benjamin Sesko faces more pressure than most on this list. He must be afforded time to adapt to the Premier League. Both his hype and playing for United provide an added spotlight for the 22-year-old Has shown some nice touches so far, but Ruben Amorim must make sure he is afforded better service than Rasmus Højlund's doomed time under his tutelage.

5. Yoane Wissa, Newcastle United

4 of 8
Brentford FC v Brighton & Hove Albion FC - Premier League

The man who will play the biggest role in replacing Alexander Isak at Newcastle.

Yoane Wissa perhaps costs too much and is heading into his later years, but he's Premier League proven, and he should excel under the guidance of Eddie Howe.

In truth, replacing Isak isn't something that will be possible with one player. Wissa should provide a guaranteed output of goals, allowing the likes of Woltemade, William Osula, Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon and new signing Anthony Elanga to help chip away the rest.

There was no need for Newcastle to go for an unknown quantity like Sesko in this division. Wissa should help the Magpies adapt effectively after Isak's departure.

4. Joao Pedro, Chelsea

5 of 8
Chelsea v Fulham - Premier League
Joao Pedro

It didn't take Joao Pedro long to show he was an excellent player at Brighton, and it hasn't taken him long to do the same at Chelsea.

Two goals and two assists in three Premier League games only tells some of the story about a player who has already forced his name onto the teamsheet.

The 23-year-old is terrific just behind the striker, a role which adheres to his all-action style and willingness to help out across the entire pitch. He can also lead the line and has the deft touch and passing ability to involve Chelsea's wingers.

The Blues have thrown a lot of money at attacking reinforcements over the last year. There's a good chance Joao Pedro turns out to be the best of the lot.

3. Viktor Gyökeres, Arsenal

6 of 8
Liverpool v Arsenal - Premier League

Arsenal needed a striker. They signed a monster.

Viktor Gyökeres, like Sesko, will have his every touch and flick of the hair judged because he joined one of the two most scrutinised clubs in England.

The Sweden international notched a couple of goals in the win against Leeds but was largely anonymous against Manchester United and Liverpool. People are already circling to say he's not as good as he was at Sporting.

While the 27-year-old's movement hasn't looked quite as sharp so far, he's a great goalscorer. He can bully defenders like nobody else in Mikel Arteta's squad, and he has the potential to score 25-plus goals in the Premier League this season.

His supporters are going to need to get behind him, though. Not every performance needs a huge overreaction on social media.

2. Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool

7 of 8
Crystal Palace v Liverpool - 2025 FA Community Shield

There's no doubt Hugo Ektike would be top of this list if Liverpool hadn't signed Isak (spoiler alert).

The 23-year-old has made a cracking start to life with the champions, scoring two excellent goals in three games and providing a constant threat when the Reds march forward.

However, Isak's arrival may now limit his minutes or shift him away from a central position.

That won't be the end of Ekitike's threat, though. Arne Slot has hinted before that he could be used from the left, although in doing so, he'll need to make sure the former Frankfurt striker still has the chance to cause issues in the middle of the box.

Unlike Cody Gakpo, you probably don't want to see Ekitike firing in too many crosses.

In all likelihood, Ekitike's goalscoring ability will halt any worries over his minutes soon enough. Liverpool are taking their title defence extremely seriously and having him available in a potentially rotational role is a great marker of that.

1. Alexander Isak, Liverpool

8 of 8

It finally happened. After a summer of refusing to train, Alexander Isak got his wish. Liverpool have paid £125 million for one of the top strikers in the world and a proven Premier League superstar.

As mentioned, it's the sign of a club that is no longer willing to win one title and drop off. Slot's goal is to now assert Liverpool as the English powerhouse, capable of escaping the threat of rivals every year. At the same time, this will place them as consistent Champions League favourites.

Isak offers everything you could want from a modern forward. He's tall, quick and strong. He's ambitious and plays off instinct that gives opposition defenders zero time to think. He elevated Newcastle's wingers and will now have the chance to excel alongside Ekitike, Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
