FSU LB Ethan Pritchard Shot, in Critical Condition at Hospital as Police Investigate

Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard is in critical but stable condition following a shooting Sunday night in Havana, Florida.

"The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals, and asks that their privacy be respected at this time," the school said.

ESPN's Andrea Adelson reported an investigation by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is ongoing.

Pritchard was a 3-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He committed to the Seminoles in October 2023 and made his signing official last December.

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell offered a strong endorsement of the 6'2" defender

"He is a fast and athletic linebacker that plays with a pissed-off mentality," Norvell said, per the Orlando Sentinel's Bob Ferrante. "And I love it. He's about all of the right things. He's had a lot of people that have come in and tried to sway him one way or the other. He has been committed to Florida State. It is a great and special relationship with him and just so very excited about what he's going to bring."

Pritchard didn't appear in his team's 31-17 upset of No. 8 Alabama on Saturday.
