Carson Beck, No. 10 Miami Upset Carr, No. 6 Notre Dame on Late FG, Impress Fans in Win
Carson Beck led the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes to an upset win over the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in his first start for the program.
Beck, a transfer from Georgia, threw for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also helped Miami get into field-goal range to set up the game-winning kick from Carter Davis.
Beck helped the Hurricanes get out to a 14-7 halftime lead. The ACC side was up two touchdowns after three quarters.
Beck's second touchdown pass made all the highlight reels, as CJ Daniels hauled it in with one hand.
Beck and the Hurricanes should jump a handful of places in the AP Top 25 ahead of Week 2. Miami will at least jump over Notre Dame and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
There's potential for Miami to be a top-five team with a schedule that only features two Top 25 teams after Sunday night.
