
Miami's CJ Daniels Amazes CFB Fans With Wild 1-Handed TD Catch on Video vs. Notre Dame
Miami wide receiver CJ Daniels made an incredible one-handed grab during the No. 10 Hurricanes' matchup with No. 6 Notre Dame on Sunday night.
Late in the second quarter, Daniels reached back with his right hand and reeled in a pass from Carson Beck in between multiple defenders for a touchdown that gave Miami a 14-7 lead.
Fans and former players alike were in awe of the catch.
Daniels recorded three catches for 34 yards and a score in the first half, helping Miami hold a seven-point lead at halftime.
The senior receiver made a strong first impression at Hard Rock Stadium, as he was making his Hurricanes debut on Sunday. He spent the first four years of his college career with Liberty, eventually suiting up for LSU last season beforeย transferringย to Miami in Dec. 2024.
Daniels hauled in 42 receptions for a modest 480 yards during his 2024 campaign, although he's already proving to be a key contributor both on and off the field at his new school.
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal discussed how impressed he was with the wideout's leadership in a radio appearance on Aug. 7.
"What we have seen at practice with the combination of the older guys from the portal and the younger guys that we signed and then the leadership of a guy like CJ Daniels," Cristobal said, via 247Sports'ย David Lake. "I think you are going to be really impressed with how he performs and rounds up those guys and pushes that group forward."
Daniels was certainly leading by example on Sunday night.
