No. 8 Alabama Upset by FSU as CFB Fans Rip Kalen DeBoer, Hype Tommy Castellanos
The second season of the Kalen DeBoer era at Alabama did not start well at all.
DeBoer's Crimson Tide fell 31-17 to Thomas Castellanos and the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday.
As is the case with any Alabama coach after a loss, DeBoer faced a ton of criticism for the way his team played.
DeBoer's decision to start Ty Simpson at quarterback didn't look great. Simpson went 23-for-43 for 254 yards.
Alabama struggled to contain Castellanos, a Boston College transfer, who had 152 passing yards on 14 attempts and 78 yards on 16 rushes.
Alabama will be out of the spotlight for a week with UL_Monroe at home in Week 2, but it needs to be much better to take down Wisconsin at home in Week 3 and challenge Georgia on the road at the end of September.
