Chipotle Gives Free Burritos to All OSU, Florida, Georgia Athletes in NIL Deal
Almost 2,000 student athletes at Ohio State, Florida and Georgia will receive free Chipotle thanks to a newly announced NIL deal between the restaurant and the three universities.
Chipotle announced on Wednesday that all student athletes at the three schools will receive a customized card allowing them to receive one free entrée per week for 15 weeks.
The restaurant debuted a similar deal with about 1,000 student athletes at Ohio State during the 2024-25 academic year. Florida and Georgia are now joining the promotion for the 2025-26 athletic season.
Chipotle's chief brand officer, Chris Brandt, described the promotion as "democratizing NIL for nearly 2,000 student athletes."
Chipotle originally partnered with Ohio State for its first football NIL campaign in 2022.
The promotion comes ahead of the first NCAA season in which student athletes can be paid directly by their schools, a change which is expected to most immediately impact student athletes playing revenue-generating sports.
The majority of power conference schools are planning to distribute about 90 percent of the anticipated $20.5 million revenue-sharing cap to football and men's basketball programs this academic year, according to Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.
