Class of 2027 5-star running back Kemon Spell is already committed to Penn State, but he's not guaranteeing that he'll suit up for the Nittany Lions.

Spell told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he's open to breaking his commitment to Penn State, and he has a list of six schools that "have the best shot at flipping him." He will take visits to each school starting with Ohio State this weekend, followed by Tennessee, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame and Alabama.

A 5'9", 205-pound speedster from McKeesport High School in Pennsylvania, Spell is the No. 1 running back and No. 9 overall player in the 2027 class in 247Sports' composite. Fawcett noted that he's been committed to Penn State for over a year.

"Just the love and the relationship between the whole coaching staff," Spell said of what stood out about the Nittany Lions when he made his commitment. "The way they treat me and their own kids stands out. It's just a great program."

Spell started his junior season with a dominant performance last Saturday in which he recorded 13 carries for 293 yards and four touchdowns while also adding a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown.

247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins described Spell as "a mix between a tank and a jackrabbit, which is an extremely difficult combination to tackle." He added that he "projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can move the chains while facing stacked boxes."

Spell included Florida State in his list of scheduled visits, but he named the other six schools as the ones he's most interested in as he explores his possibilities. He will also visit Penn State on Sept. 27, giving the Nittany Lions a chance to solidify his commitment amid the additional competition.
