Zach BacharAug 23, 2025

Arch Manning and Texas are the early favorites to emerge victorious in the College Football Playoff.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Texas has the highest odds to win a national title at +550. Ohio State follows close behind at +600, while Penn State owns the third-best odds at +700.

Georgia and Clemson round out the top five at +750 and +900, respectively.

Texas sitting atop the CFP odds doesn't come as a major surprise, as the Longhorns are currently No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The team is returning several key players from a defense that led the SEC by allowing a mere 12.5 points per game in 2024, while Manning is set to enter his first year as a full-time starter.

He operated in a backup role last season but stepped up when given extended playing time, completing 67.8 percent of his passes for 939 yards and nine touchdowns compared to two interceptions across 10 appearances. Manning also rushed for 108 yards and found the end zone four times on the ground.

The CFP odds might look vastly different after Week 1, though.

Texas is set to face Ohio State to open the year, and the Buckeyes could become the favorites to win a second consecutive national title if they can take down the Longhorns at Ohio Stadium.

Kickoff between the two schools in on Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. ET.
