Deion Sanders Reveals Dress Code, Rules for Colorado CFB Players Attending Classes

Andrew PetersAug 20, 2025

Deion Sanders is making sure his players are dialed in both on the field and in the classroom this fall.

The Colorado head coach introduced a dress code for his players while attending classes.

Sanders forbade his players from wearing slides, hoodies and headphones during in-person classes, and said they must wear a shirt during online classes. He also told his players that they can't sit in the back of the classroom.

While Sanders' rules might seem a bit strict, the student part of student-athlete clearly comes first at Colorado, and he wants to make sure his players are putting forth their best efforts while getting their education.

And discipline in the classroom could very well translate to discipline on the field this fall.

The Buffaloes will need all the help they can get this season after losing a handful of key players last year, including Heisman winner Travis Hunter and star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who led Colorado to a 9-4 record a season ago.

The Buffaloes have a handful of talented freshmen coming in this year as well as some notable transfers, but whether they'll be able to match last season's success remains to be seen.

Colorado will open up the season against a promising Georgia Tech team on Aug. 29. That matchup should serve as a good litmus test for what kind of year Sanders and the Buffaloes are going to have.
