Cowboys' Caelen Carson Reportedly Out 4-6 Weeks With Knee Injury Ahead of 2025 Season
The Dallas Cowboys have already been dealing with injuries at the cornerback position this offseason, and they lost more depth this week.
Per ESPN's Todd Archer, Cowboys cornerback Caelen Carson is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after he suffered a hyperextended knee Sunday.
The Cowboys already started training camp with cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and Josh Butler on the physically unable to perform list and rookie Shavon Revel on the non-football injury list. All three of them are recovering from knee surgery.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Also, veteran cornerback DaRon Bland missed a week of action after the birth of his son. While he returned to practice on Monday, he did not take part in 11-on-11 drills and only did individual work.
A fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft, Carson earned the starting role for Dallas in last year's season opener. However, his rookie season was cut short after six games when he was placed on injured reserve. He finished the year with 27 total tackles and four passes defended.
Archer noted that ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys signed cornerback Christian Matthew following his workout with the team on Monday. The 2022 seventh-round pick most recently was with the Baltimore Ravens, but he also has some familiarity with new Dallas defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus from his stint with the Chicago Bears.
Despite their depleted secondary, the Cowboys will be looking to re-establish themselves as title contenders in 2025 after falling short of the playoffs last season.
