FC Barcelona unveiled its new away kit, which is inspired by late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

The yellow top features Bryant's signature logo and a snakeskin-style pattern to evoke his "Mamba Mentality." The kit is accented with violet and black, mirroring the Lakers' color palette.

"The collaboration celebrates Kobe's lifelong love for football and admiration for FC Barcelona's joyful style of play and philosophy," Nike said. "In return, Barça recognizes Kobe as a driving force in global sport who lived by the discipline and drive for greatness that defines the club."

Bryant gained an appreciation for the beautiful game when his father's professional basketball game took him to Italy growing up. While he naturally gravitated toward AC Milan, one of Serie A's historic powers, he became a passionate supporter of Barcelona as well.

Barça's collaboration with Bryant's Mamba brand goes beyond the away strip. Nike is releasing special colorways of the Air Force 1 Protro and Kobe 4 Protro to coincide with the reveal.

Barcelona will debut its new kit in Thursday's friendly against FC Seoul of South Korea's K League 1.
