Deion Sanders' 1st Colorado Camp Press Conference Scheduled After Health Update Video
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders will speak to the media Monday at 1 p.m. ET to "provide team and general updates."
The school said Sanders' medical team will also be in attendance.
This comes as the Hall of Fame cornerback has dealt with an undisclosed health issue that limited his day-to-day involvement with the team. In a video uploaded by son Deion Jr. on Sunday, Sanders said he "had to make a will."
Deion Jr. assured viewers the situation "was a battle that was fought and won."
The Buffaloes went 9-4 in 2024, a five-win improvement from 2023 and a far cry from the 1-11 finish in 2022 prior to Sanders' arrival.
Colorado isn't generally considered a favorite to win the Big 12 this year, though.
The team has to replace Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award recipient Shedeur Sanders. There isn't one single player who can replicate Hunter's two-way abilities. When it comes to the quarterback battle, Julian Lewis is a true freshman, while Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter is unproven at the Power Four level.
Sanders and his staff did at least assemble the No. 38 recruiting class in 247Sports' composite team rankings for 2025, which was a big step up from a 95th-place finish in 2024. As quickly became the custom, the Buffs were aggressive in the transfer portal as well.
Nobody knows how Colorado will perform on the field until it opens the season in August. Sanders' press conference will at least help to address one of the program's bigger off-field storylines.
