Bill Belichick, UNC Predicted to Reach 2025 ACC Title Game by Pitt HC Pat Narduzzi
Bill Belichick is already facing high expectations for his first year as UNC head coach, and one of his counterparts made a bold prediction.
Per Chandler Vessels of On3.com, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi told reporters at ACC media days on Wednesday that he expects to go head-to-head against Belichick and the Tar Heels in the 2025 ACC Championship Game.
"I expect them to be in the championship game against Pitt this year," Narduzzi said. "You got Bill Belichick, you better be, right?"
It could be a tough road for Belichick to fulfill Narduzzi's prediction, as ESPN has UNC's projected win total at 6.7 for the 2025 campaign. Pitt isn't any better, with just 5.9 projected wins.
Still, Belichick is one of the greatest football minds ever and arguably the best coach in NFL history. He should be able to turn around a UNC program that finished with a 6-7 record in 2024.
Belichick and the Tar Heels will open the 2025 season on Sept. 1 in a Monday night game on ESPN against TCU.
