Terry McLaurin Put on Did Not Report List by Commanders Amid Holdout, Contract Rumors
Let the holdout officially begin.
The Washington Commanders put Terry McLaurin on the reserve/did not report list Wednesday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That means the wide receiver who is looking for a new contract is officially absent at the start of training camp and will remain a looming question mark until the two sides reach some sort of agreement.
Amid the holdout, McLaurin was photographed outside of a Virginia yoga class as he awaits a resolution:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday the veteran was the only Washington player who was absent and unaccounted for during the team's conditioning test that serves as the unofficial opening of training camp.
"We're going to do everything we can in order to get a deal done," general manager Adam Peters told reporters Tuesday.
Head coach Dan Quinn also said such situations are "part of the business."
Their comments follow those from McLaurin earlier this month when he told reporters "without any progress in discussions it's kind of hard to see how I step on the field." However, the Ohio State product also made it clear he wants to remain in Washington and isn't looking for a trade.
"It's obviously the compensation, but it's kind of like the confusion," McLaurin said. "All year you feel like you're a part of something. You earned the right to be a captain.
"When you have that type of production, when you know how people value you and see you have told you to your face and then you see how it's progressing until this point, that's very disappointing. I'm just trying to get some clarity. Shoot it to me straight."
The veteran is entering the final season of his contract and is set to make $15.5 million in base salary.
He is just 17th among all wide receivers in contract average annual value and has seen other pass-catchers such as Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, DK Metcalf and Garrett Wilson sign contract extensions this offseason.
Wilson is fifth in average annual value for wide receivers at $32.5 million and could be something of a comparison point for McLaurin.
McLaurin is coming off arguably the best year of his career with 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. It marked the fifth straight season he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards, and he was named to his second Pro Bowl since he entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
The Commanders advanced to the NFC Championship Game and seem to have a bright future with Jayden Daniels under center, but they will surely need their top receiver back on the field if they are going to replicate that run again in 2025.
For now, though, he is officially away from the team.
