Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City Ownership Group, Helped Launch New Uniforms

Snoop Dogg has become the latest celebrity owner in the English Football League by joining Swansea City FC as a co-owner and investor.

The Welsh club announced the rap icon's investment in a Thursday post launching Swansea's new home kit for the 2025-26 season.

Swansea's kit launch involved a jab toward Ryan Reynolds, the celebrity co-owner of the club's Championship rival Wrexham FC.

Reynolds, who has overseen three straight promotions for Wrexham since buying the club with actor Rob McElhenney in 2021, shared his own club's new home kit in a post on his Instagram six days ago.

Reynolds, who was posing with his goldendoodle, finished the post by clarifying, "Dog not included." Swansea began its post by noting that there was a "Dogg included" with its kit.

Swansea announced alongside the kit launch on Thursday that Snoop Dogg's investment would be celebrated with a mural honoring the rap artist, which was designed by Hasan Kamil and will be displayed at Swansea.com Stadium.

Snoop Dogg will join Croatian soccer star Luka Modrić, who purchased a stake in the club in April, as minority owners of the team.

Swansea City shifted to majority American ownership last November when Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt and Nigel Morris took control of 77.4 percent of the club, the BBC reported.

The club then announced in March that it had posted 15.2 million euros in pre-tax losses during the 2024 financial year, per the BBC.

Cravatt and Cohen said in a letter to fans in April that Swansea would need to focus on increasing revenue and reducing costs going forward, according to the BBC.

Club ownership said in a statement on Thursday that they expect Snoop Dogg's involvement "to support us putting as competitive a team as possible out on the field."

Swansea was founded in 1912. The club played in the Premier League from 2011 to 2018 and won the League Cup in 2013 before its relegation following the 2017-18 season.
