FSU's Thomas Castellanos Trash-Talks Alabama WR Isaiah Horton in Workout Video

Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos is continuing to hype the Seminoles' upcoming matchup with Alabama by trash-talking Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Horton ahead of the two teams' Aug. 30 season opener.

“Oh, you play with Bama? Man, listen. Y’all boys gonna see,” Castellanos jokingly told Horton at the 1:45 mark of a workout video shared Tuesday by Well Off Media.

Castellanos went on to explain to Horton why he has been taking jabs at Alabama ahead of the season-opening matchup.

"On the real though, bro, you watch any interview, I don't ever talk like that," Castellanos told Horton. "But like, those boys coming off of 2-10. I just had to install some confidence, you feel me? That's all I'm trying to do... I'm trying to make it the biggest stage possible."

Castellanos, who transferred from Boston College to join Florida State after DJ Uiagalelei and the Seminoles struggled to a 2-10 finish last season, first sparked buzz ahead of the season opener by expressing doubt about Kalen DeBoer's ability to lead the Crimson Tide to victory in a June interview with On3's Pete Nakos.

“I dreamed of moments like this. I dreamed of playing against Alabama. They don't have Nick Saban to save them. I just don't see them stopping me," Castellanos told Nakos.

That comment has since received reactions from Alabama players ranging from linebacker Deontae Lawson saying the report "ignites us a little bit" to defensive lineman Tim Keenan III telling reporters that "disrespect will be addressed."

Castellanos, who struggled with injury issues and was eventually benched during his second campaign at BC before transferring to FSU to become Uiagalelei's successor, will now look to back up his comments as he makes his Seminoles debut against an Alabama team still deciding between three contenders for the role of starting quarterback.

Florida State's 2025 season opener against Alabama is set to kick off on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET in Tallahassee.
