Jalen Williams Posts Meme From 'The Office' After Thunder Agree to $822M in Contracts
Jalen Williams is apparently impressed with the negotiation skills that resulted in him, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren earning contracts worth as much as $822 million from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Williams celebrated his reported five-year, $287 million maximum extension by sharing a meme from The Office in which Michael Scott exclaims that he is "so rich" after negotiating for a higher salary.

Before Williams' deal, the Thunder signed Gilgeous-Alexander to a four-year, $285 million deal and Holmgren to a five-year contract worth up to $250 million.
These contracts will cost the Thunder future cap flexibility, with the team predicted to exceed the second luxury tax apron during the 2026-27 season by ESPN's Bobby Marks.
They will also help the Thunder keep together the core that led the franchise during its first NBA championship run by defeating the Indiana Pacers in the 2025 NBA Finals.
Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished the campaign as both regular-season and Finals MVP, averaged 29.9 points, 6.5 assists and 1.7 steals per playoff game.
Holmgren contributed 15.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest, while Williams averaged 21.4 points and 4.8 assists per playoff game despite playing through an injury that necessitated offseason wrist surgery. He is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season, according to the Thunder.
Gilgeous-Alexander is 26 years old, while Williams is 24 years old and Holmgren is 23. The Thunder will now hope locking in these three players through their mid-20s will help the team remain a championship contender for at least the next several years.
