EA Sports Drop FC 26 Trailer Video, Bellingham, Musiala Revealed as Cover Stars

EA Sports premiered the FC 26 reveal trailer on Wednesday after announcing Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala as the cover athletes for the Standard Edition of the upcoming video game.

The unveiling came two days after legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimović was named the cover athlete for FC 26's Ultimate Edition.

Both Bellingham and Musiala are just 22 years old, but their paths have already crossed many times during their young careers.

For starters, Bellingham and Musiala spent time as roommates when they were part of England's U15, U17 and U21 national teams.

Musiala, who was born in Germany, later switched allegiances, and he has played for the German national team since 2021.

Bellingham began his professional career at Birmingham City, and Musiala arrived on the scene one year later with Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund then acquired Bellingham in 2020, placing Bellingham and Musiala on opposite sides of arguably the Bundesliga's biggest rivalry between Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Musiala's Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga in 2021, 2022 and 2023, at which point Bellingham transferred to Real Madrid, signing a six-year deal with the Spanish soccer giant.

Bellingham now has a La Liga title and a UEFA Champions League title under his belt, plus he has scored 38 goals in 100 matches across all competitions over his two seasons with Los Blancos.

As for Musiala, he has scored 64 goals in 207 matches across all competitions for Bayern Munich, and he is coming off a career-year, as he netted 21 goals during the 2024-25 campaign. However, he suffered a fractured leg and ankle dislocation in a matchup against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup and will miss the start of the upcoming season.

A legitimate case can be made for Bellingham and Musiala being the two best young players in the sport and the future of soccer.

Because of that, and their history as both friends and rivals, it is fitting that they are sharing the honor of being the FC 26 cover stars.

Per Insider Gaming's Mike Straw, the FC 26 Ultimate Edition is set for a Sept. 19 release, followed by the Standard Edition coming out on Sept. 25.

FC 26 will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the original Nintendo Switch.
