Manchester City Agree to Puma Contract Worth Reported $1.3B, Make EPL History

Manchester City has reportedly reached an agreement on a record-breaking contract extension with kit manufacturer Puma.

On Tuesday, Manchester City announced that it signed a new, 10-year deal with Puma. According to the BBC, the pact is worth up to £1 billion ($1.3 billion), which beats the 10-year, £900 million contract Manchester United signed with Adidas in 2023 as the richest kit manufacturer deal in English Premier League history.

The previous deal between Manchester City and Puma, which began in 2019, was worth an average of £65 million per year, meaning the new contract includes an annual increase of £35 million.

City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano released a statement on extending the club's partnership with Puma through 2025, saying: "We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond the expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons."

Manchester City are among the most storied and successful clubs in English soccer history, having won 10 top-level English titles, which is the fourth-most all time.

Eight of those titles have been won over the past 14 years, including four in a row from 2021 to 2024.

For all of their recent success, The Citizens had a down year in 2024-25 by their lofty standards, as the FA Cup was their only major trophy.

City finished third in the EPL standings behind Liverpool and Arsenal, and fell to Real Madrid in the knockout phase play-offs of the UEFA Champions League.

Most recently, Manchester City were upset by Al Hilal in the round of 16 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

Still, few clubs across the globe are as popular and successful as Manchester City, as evidenced by their massive agreement with Puma.

Manchester City are scheduled to return to the pitch on Aug. 9 for a friendly against Palermo, and their 2025-26 EPL slate will get underway on Aug. 16 against Wolves.
