Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Second-Half Sleepers, Bargain Hitters to Watch
The so-called "second half" of the season brings added pressure for every team looking to make a playoff push. At the same time, DraftKings owners will have some added pressure trying to build a bankroll for the holiday season after October.
Luckily, the first few months gave us an idea of which players to target at low prices to build a complete lineup. Here's a look at some of the top bargain-bin hitters to watch as the season winds down.

Whether you're looking for a breakout catcher or first baseman to lock up, Stephen Vogt is your man. The Oakland Athletics power hitter was in a mild slump before the All-Star break, but he busted back out in a big way.
After posting 30 points in his final two games before his first All-Star Game appearance, Vogt proved there's no reason to doubt that he can continue to be a player to target. Typically found at a price point below $3,500, this All-Star catcher will be one to watch in the second half.
Second Baseman: Jace Peterson, Atlanta Braves

Already a consistent scoring threat in the first half of the season, Jace Peterson should continue to hit his stride after the break. Most of his success for daily fantasy owners has been courtesy of his plate appearances with the bases loaded.
Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan offers more on his performance:
Peterson's price fluctuated over the first half of the season due to the fact that he's still a relatively new face in the game. If his stats continue to show an upward trend, his price may go up as well. But Peterson is a player to watch with a power bat in Freddie Freeman likely returning from the disabled list soon.
Third Baseman: David Freese, Los Angeles Angels

Remember the David Freese from the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals that won the World Series MVP? Well, that guy may never truly return. But this year's version of Freese is already rounding into postseason form for the Los Angeles Angels.
Over the last 10 games before the All-Star break, Freese notched an average of 7.6 fantasy points and a .295 batting average with LA. That all came without a home run in that span as well. He was a huge part of the turnaround before the break and will be a key component in the second half.
Shortstop: Brandon Crawford, San Francisco Giants

How does another All-Star infielder land on the list of bargain hitters? Well, we're not quite sure. But with a low price during the first half of the season, the San Francisco Giants power hitter is a great player to target on any given night.
Crawford holds a higher points-per-game average on the road (7.9) and sports a .300 OBP or better against both righties and lefties. Expect stability from Crawford at a reasonable price. In other words, a bargain All-Star—which is exactly what the Giants have.
Outfielder: Billy Burns, Oakland Athletics

I've been putting Billy Burns on my players to watch lists every chance I get. Constantly being found at a reduced rate, Burns has been quietly putting up steady numbers with a .303 average and 17 stolen bases. He might not hit for power, but he has a lot to offer.
Burns isn't quite the all-around package that players like Dee Gordon or Jose Altuve are offensively, but he is a perfect fit for a No. 2 outfielder. Lock him into nearly any lineup and expect this switch-hitter to put up similar numbers to a No. 1 hitter.
