Clemson's Cade Klubnik Compared to Ryan Tannehill By Daniel Jeremiah, 'Very Athletic'
Clemson's Cade Klubnik figures to be under the spotlight throughout the 2025 college football season as one of the top quarterback prospects ahead of the 2026 NFL draft, and he already reminds one notable analyst of a former Pro Bowler.
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah published a scouting report for Klubnik on Wednesday and said that while he couldn't find "an ideal match" for the Clemson product, there is some Ryan Tannehill in his game.
"Both guys are very athletic, possessing ideal quickness and the ability to create plays," Jeremiah wrote. "They both throw with touch and timing and excel on loft passes down the field."
He also highlighted Klubnik's impressive ability to make plays in the RPO game with that athleticism, which also helps him keep plays alive outside the pocket to show off his touch as a thrower.
While Tannehill isn't exactly the future Hall of Famer that some potential first-rounders want to be compared to, he was the No. 8 overall pick of the 2012 NFL draft and started 151 games across 11 different seasons.
He was the 2019 Comeback Player of the Year and a Pro Bowler that season for the Tennessee Titans and went 81-70 during those starts.
Tannehill wasn't a dominant playmaker, but he had a solid career that many prospects could aspire to as they turn their attention to the next level.
As for Klubnik, B/R's NFL Scouting Department projected him as the No. 9 overall pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in its early mock draft in April. He could play his way up draft boards or cement his spot in the top 10 if he leads the Tigers to an ACC crown and spot in the College Football Playoff again after doing so last season.
The Miami Dolphins took a chance on Tannehill in the top 10 in 2012, and perhaps another team will do the same with Klubnik in 2026.
