After adding big-name pieces to the offense in quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver DK Metcalf this offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers made another huge splash Monday, but it came at a price.
Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey announced that the Steelers acquired him in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, and ESPN's Adam Schefter later reported that the Steelers also landed tight end Jonnu Smith in the deal in exchange for star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

In Ramsey and Smith, the Steelers are getting potential difference-makers on both sides of the ball.
Ramsey, 30, is a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro who has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams and Dolphins.
After winning his first Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, Ramsey was traded to the Dolphins prior to the 2023 season. Injuries limited him to 10 games in his first season in Miami, but he still finished with three interceptions and was selected to the Pro Bowl.
Last season, Ramsey started all 17 games, recording two picks and 11 passes defended, but he was not named a Pro Bowler for the first time since his rookie season in 2016.
With Ramsey in the fold, the Steelers now have three significant corners between him, Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay, and it remains to be seen if one of them will be moved inside to play slot corner.
As for Smith, the 29-year-old tight end is coming off a career year with the Dolphins. He finished with 88 catches for 884 yards and eight touchdowns last season en route to his first Pro Bowl nod.
Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and Jonnu Smith have worked together often over the years, as Arthur was Jonnu's OC with the Tennessee Titans and head coach with the Atlanta Falcons.
Pittsburgh didn't necessarily have a glaring need at tight end with Pat Freiermuth coming off a career-high 65 receptions and seven touchdowns last season, but Smith gives them another much-needed offensive weapon.
There were question marks regarding who would step up as the Steelers' WR2 after trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, but Smith's arrival means Pittsburgh could employ two-TE sets with regularity.
Fitzpatrick, 28, is arguably the best player in the trade with five Pro Bowl nods and three First Team All-Pro selections to his credit.
He was originally selected 11th overall by the Dolphins in the 2018 NFL draft before getting traded to the Steelers during his second season, but now Fitzpatrick is headed back to Miami.
Fitzpatrick has been named a Pro Bowler in three straight years, and while he has a total of just one interception over the past two seasons, he led the league with six picks in 2022.
Along with one interception in 2024, Fitzpatrick had 96 tackles, which speaks to his versatility as a safety.
Fitzpatrick's arrival could make the Dolphins' secondary tougher to play against as a whole, but Ramsey's departure means Miami is now even thinner at the already-weak cornerback position.
The Dolphins are looking to bounce back with a playoff appearance this coming season after missing in 2024 with an 8-9 record, while the Steelers are eyeing their third straight postseason berth.
