Ace Bailey to Wear No. 19 Jazz Jersey After Being Picked 5th Overall in 2025 NBA Draft

Andrew PetersJun 30, 2025

Ace Bailey will have a new number as he makes the transition from college to the NBA.

Bailey will wear No. 19 for the Utah Jazz, who drafted him fifth overall in last week's NBA draft. Bailey wore No. 4 at Rutgers, but that number has been retired by Utah in honor of Adrian Dantley.

The Salt Lake Tribune's Andy Larsen first reported the news.

Bailey landed in Utah after an outstanding season at Rutgers. He put up 17.6 points and 7.2 boards, establishing himself as one of the best prospects in this year's draft.

After an interesting approach to the draft where Bailey made his preferred teams known, there was some speculation that he might fall in the draft, but the Jazz took him at No. 5 despite not being one of the teams he was interested in.

Though Utah wasn't his ideal landing spot, Bailey made it clear at his first press conference on Sunday that holding out was never an option.

Now, Bailey will look to start his career off strong with a good rookie year as the Jazz continue their rebuild.
