Ace Bailey's Pre-Draft Process Reportedly Has NBA Teams 'Perplexed' amid Rumors
Ace Bailey is one of the names to watch in the upcoming NBA draft, but the Rutgers star has reportedly taken an interesting approach to the pre-draft process.
Per ESPN's Jonathan Givony, Bailey has not followed the traditional route of scheduling individual workouts with teams and going to teams' facilities.
"NBA teams are a little bit perplexed about his pre-draft process," Givony said on NBA Today (2:10 mark). "He's the only player who has yet to conduct a single workout to this point. He has not visited any NBA team facilities. Ace Bailey's camp is adamant in conversations that he's a top-three player in this draft, and they're looking for a clear pathway to stardom both with minutes and opportunities."
Bailey looked like an NBA player in his sole season with the Scarlet Knights, putting up 17.6 points and 7.2 boards per game, but his approach to the draft seemingly could hurt where he lands.
Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman projects Bailey to fall to the Washington Wizards at No. 6, behind players like Baylor VJ Edgecombe, Duke's Khaman Maluach and others that he initially seemed to have an edge over.
