Sky's Angel Reese Says 'Wasn't Just Mebounds Tonight' After Historic Game vs. Sparks
Angel Reese recorded a season-high 24 points and made history Sunday, becoming the first WNBA player to grab 15 or more rebounds in four consecutive games, pulling down 16 boards in the Chicago Sky’s 92-85 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Of her 16 rebounds, 12 came on the defensive end, prompting the 23-year-old to shout out her trademark after the victory.
"I only had four O-boards so it wasn't just 'Mebounds' tonight," Reese told reporters.

The former LSU star joined elite company—three-time and reigning MVP A'ja Wilson, 2021 MVP Jonquel Jones and three-time MVP Lisa Leslie—as the only players in WNBA history to record 15 or more points and rebounds in three consecutive games.
The 6'3" forward had 19, 17 and 18 rebounds in her previous three games amid her historic run.
"When you get rebounds, it's never a negative when somebody can't stop you on the boards, I mean, that leads to more points for us," Reese said. "I look at it as a positive."
Reese also gave credit to her teammates for setting her up throughout the game, as she finished with seven assists. The Sky collectively shot 42.3 percent from three-point range, fueling the team’s offensive rhythm in the win.
"I think a lot of times when I get the rebound, last year – maybe one game this year – I would go right back up... and now we have amazing shooters where I can just kick it out, they can make the three and that's why I have seven assists," Reese said.
In 38 minutes, Reese shot 10-of-19 from the field, adding two blocks and one steal to cap off her incredible performance.
She sealed the night with an 11-point fourth quarter, including a clutch and-one that gave the Sky the lead with just under three minutes remaining in regulation and grab the win.
