Mitch Marner Reportedly Focus of Sign-and-Trade Talks Between Leafs, Golden Knights
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Las Vegas Golden Knights are engaged in "ongoing" discussions regarding a Mitch Marner sign-and-trade, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
Las Vegas would be able to offer Marner a maximum of eight years on a new contract if it can acquire him in a sign-and-trade agreement, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
The right winger is currently slated to hit free agency on Tuesday.

The Maple Leafs and Golden Knights previously discussed a three-team swap that would have included the Carolina Hurricanes and sent Marner to Las Vegas ahead of the March 7 trade deadline, according to James Mirtle of The Athletic.
Talks broke down after the Golden Knights and Hurricanes couldn't "find the right assets" to make a deal work, Mirtle reported.
While Marner has spent his entire nine-year career with the Maple Leafs, his long-term future with the team was murky throughout their 2024-25 campaign.
On May 20, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic reported that Toronto attempted to sign Marner to a long-term extension during the season before he declined.
The 28-year-old recorded a career-high 102 points across 81 games in the regular season. Marner also amassed 13 points in 13 playoff games, but scored just one goal during a second-round defeat at the hands of the Florida Panthers.
He'd be an intriguing fit alongside Jack Eichel with Las Vegas, as the team is coming off a 50-22-10 finish last season. The Golden Knights haven't been able to advance beyond the second round of the playoffs in the two years since their Stanley Cup victory in 2023.
