Although his stint at the Etihad Stadium has been trophy-laden, things haven’t always been plain sailing for Dzeko. He’s never quite lived up to the billing he had upon joining from Wolfsburg back in 2011, unable to nail down a regular starting spot in the City XI, as we can see here courtesy of Sky Sports News HQ:
Nevertheless, as we can see here courtesy of WhoScored.com, when on the pitch, the Bosnian is a ruthless finisher:
Indeed, Dzeko has scored some big goals for City down the years. The club’s supporters will remember his strikes against Manchester United in that memorable 6-1 win; he also hauled his side back into that match against Queens Park Rangers in 2012 with a late equaliser before Sergio Aguero won the league just seconds later.

The 29-year-old also scored crucial goals during the dramatic climax to the 2013-14 season, when City reeled in Liverpool to capture their second Premier League title.
But Dzeko, a player who needs a regular supply line of service, is a little one-dimensional in his style of forward play, and for a team with ambitions as lofty as City’s, he’s not of the standard required.
Still, he’ll leave the Etihad, even temporarily, having created some wonderful memories for the supporters, and the Serie A giants will be getting a thoroughbred goalscorer.
