Fever's Caitlin Clark Says Nothing Feels 'Off' Amid 'Frustrating' 3-Point Struggles

Andrew PetersJun 22, 2025

Typically a consistent three-point shooter, Caitlin Clark has found herself struggling from deep as of late.

But after going 1-of-17 from three over the past two games, the Indiana Fever star said she doesn't think anything feels "off."

“There are going to be stretches that are really good and there’s going to be stretches that aren’t as good, and obviously it’s frustrating as you want them to go in," Clark said after Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Aces. "I don’t feel like it’s anything that’s off, necessarily.”

Clark shot 34.4 percent from deep as a rookie and is hitting 35.5 percent of her shots from three this season. She went 0-of-7 from beyond the arc on Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries before hitting one three in 10 attempts on Sunday.

Fever coach Stephanie White didn't blame her star for the recent shooting slump, instead putting the focus on better offensive execution as a whole.

“I think the biggest thing is what we as a staff have to do to get her better looks, higher quality looks," White told reporters. "Every game plan is going to be to make her score inside the three-point line, and the different ways that they're going to do that. Physicality, coverage, showing bodies. We have to do a better job of getting her higher-quality looks. I'm not worried about Caitlin's shot. Caitlin's shot is going to be just fine.

Still, she's found other ways to be productive over the last two contests. She posted 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists on Thursday and had 19 points and 10 assists on Sunday.

Clark is putting up 19.9 points, 8.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game this year as the Fever have gone 6-7 to start the year. Indiana, which reached the postseason for the first time since 2016 last year, is hoping for a deeper run this season, and Clark finding her shot will be integral to playoff success.
