
5-Star EDGE Richard Wesley Commits to Texas After Oregon Decommitment
Richard Wesley, a 5-star edge rusher out of Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles, has committed to Texas, per On3 Recruits’ Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound standout had previously been committed to Oregon before flipping to the Texas Longhorns.
"This for you Mom," Wesley wrote. "10000% commited."

The edge rusher received offers from more than 20 programs, including national powerhouses and defending champions such as Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia and Tennessee, before ultimately flipping his commitment to Texas.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Wesley is rated No. 14 overall in the nation, the No. 2 edge rusher and the No. 3 prospect in California.
Projected to graduate in 2026, Wesley reclassified from the class of 2027 after wrapping up his sophomore year at Sierra Canyon at the end of 2024. In a dominant campaign, he posted nine sacks, 29 solo tackles, 16 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two pass deflections.
